Fuenlabrada dedicates this year’s bicycle festival to the March for Peace

On Sunday 27th September, from 10:00 onwards, the annual bicycle festival was held in this town on the outskirts of Madrid. Around 2000 locals took part and the March logo was displayed on their race numbers. At the end of the event a manifesto was read about this planetary initiative in favour of peace and nonviolence.

Pressenza Fuenlabrada, 28/09/09 The Fuenlabrada Sports Association (Madrid) has dedicated this year’s bike race to the World March for Peace and Nonviolence. The race, which started and finished at Centro Comercial la Avda. de las Provincias, has counted on the participation of 5 groups and 1500 locals. On their race numbers the cyclists displayed the logos of the World March and its organizer World Without Wars, who throughout the whole event (from 10:00 to 13:30) manned a stand to register support and hand out information. At the end of the race, Ana Isabel López, member of World Without Wars and José Manuel Simancas, the Sports Councilman, both took part by encouraging participation in the March.

Thanks to this, the Fuenlabrada Town Council, through its Sports Association, is supporting this initiative that was endorsed unanimously.
