In very few time the first ever World March for Peace and Non-Violence will kick off in Wellington, New Zealand.
The international, multicultural Team led by world-renowned Humanist Rafael de la Rubia will arrive in Sydney on 3 October to inspire initiatives in support of nuclear disarmament and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
On October 4th the people of Sydney will join a multitude of other voices around the globe by forming the world PEACE sign on Bondi Beach. Those who believe that it’s time now to speak out in favour of peace and disarmament, to show their opposition to war and all forms of violence, will have a chance to demand their right to live in peace and liberty and have our children’s future safe.
The World March is a symbolic march by a multinational team that will travel through 90 countries and six continents for three months. The Dalai Lama, Yoko Ono, Helen Clark, Jose Manuel Ramas-Horta and Penelope Cruz are only few of the millions of official supporters of the World March.
In Australia the World March has received multiple endorsements from a number of distinguished individuals, including Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore, prominent anti-nuclear advocate Dr. Helen Caldicott, Senator Bob Brown (Greens), Senator Doug Cameron (Labour), journalist and author Jeff McMullen, musician John Butler, indigenous singer and author Richard J Frankland, Human Rights and refugee advocate Julian Burnside and the instigator of political, pop, leading music journalist, author, broadcaster, and International Peace envoy of John and Yoko Lennon’s ‘War is Over if You Want It’ Peace campaign, Ritchie Yorke.
The nuclear threat hasn’t gone away and the danger of even more countries joining the nuclear race will grow if world citizens remain silent.
To have your voice heard, join us and make PEACE sign at Bondi Beach on 4 October!
If you cant make it to the Bondi event, alternative venues include Castlemaine, Victoria & Bundaberg, Queensland.
Feel free to express your will for a Non-Violent future by creating your own event, no matter how large or small.
