The PEACE CUP to be held in Spain

For additional information contact: Juana Pérez Montero Location:
Madrid, Spain
The fourth running of the PEACE CUP will take place for the first time outside of Korea. This year the tournament will happen in Spain with the participation of Real Madrid, Olympique Lyonnais, Oporto, Aston Villa and Liga de Quito among other clubs.

Between the 24th of July and the 2nd of August this edition of the Peace Cup – Andalusia 2009 will take place in different Andalusian cities and Madrid.

With the slogan “A goal for Peace”, this tournament will take place to once again look “beyond sport, to create a platform where the best football may unite the efforts of peace and development” according to President, Chung Hwam Kwak.

This sporting event started in 2003 after the World Cup that was held in the Asian country and this will be the fourth edition. Behind this trophy is the Peace Dream Foundation, an organisation that works for peace through football and develops projects with youth in more than 30 countries to find cultural rapprochement.
