Subject: Please give your voices to Japan via Ustream and Skype on June 11 To: louis.verheyden@skynet.be Cc: Iwakami Office iwakami.office@iwakamiyasumi.net
On June 11, it will be precisely 3 months since the unprecedented catastrophe know as the "Eastern Japan Great Earthquake Disaster" and the start of the ongoing troubles at the Fukushima nuclear plant. On that day, as part of the "June 11 One Million People No-Nuke Action", there are demonstrations and events making the case against nuclear power planned not only all across Japan, but in fact around the entire world.
On June 11, Independent Web Journal (IWJ) and OurPlanet-TV will hold a "6/11 Citizens Broadcast Action" event, to connect all the broadcasts, centered on our venue in Tokyo, and also broadcasting footage from across Japan, as shot by citizens in each local area. We are planning to show not only the demonstrations in Japan, but those occurring all around the world.
We have 3 requests related to this.
Would you please use Ustream to broadcast your demonstration live on the internet? We will show that footage on June 11th at our venue in Tokyo, while simultaneously broadcasting the Tokyo event itself on the internet, hence we will be able to share what you are doing with the rest of Japan and around the world.
Might we also ask you to use Skype to report on your demonstration? We would very much like to hear all about what's going on there, comments from the participants, the present situation regarding the administration of nuclear power in your country, as well as any message you might have for Japan. We will be able to communicate with you via Skype from our location in Tokyo on that day.
Would you please use Twitter to tweet with hashtag"#611nonukes" your demonstration ?
We have long reported on the grassroots, the local citizens' movements which the Japanese media doesn't report.
We will continue what we have always done, but are picking up the pace, reporting in more detail on a wide range of activities that ordinary people are involved in, including charity, support for the devastated areas, energy innovations, and many other things.
We want to tell people abroad what is going on in Japan, but at the same time we also want to bring the voices of people abroad to Japan.
We would therefore very much appreciate your participation.
