I had heard of anatomical chairs, working, management, school, even ergonomic chairs, but never upright ergonomic chair. I do not work in a huge banking office labyrinthine with more than 200 employees in the City of London, nor do I desire to. It turns out that recently I met someone who does and who told me that he saw at the office of the multinational he slaves for one of those miraculous vertical ergonomic chairs. At first glance, Lucca is a nervous person, complex, very inhibited, with a youthful and innocent air, so I struggled to get the slightest information about this futuristic furniture and after asking for chairs observed me coldly and seemed to babble incoherently an occasional syllable, but after looking into his eyes and staring to inject a dose of confidence and affection, he began to utter words that now became decipherable and understandable:
~ ‘Yes, yes, there are several’ he said. We use them after spending hours and hours in front of our last generation computers. ‘Moreover, not only they allows you to lift the front of the body and slide your legs back, but you can even get up and work standing up, although this is implicitly reserved for senior members of the company, who have spent many years in these offices.’
– You mean, they are vertical chairs? –  I asked.
– ‘Absolutely’- he replied.
I was dazed and horrified at the same time. I did not know what to think: I had not read anything like that in Huxley or Orwell; Had the multinationals overtaken the predictions of the great English dystopian writers of the twentieth century? Maybe these chairs have their own intelligence and the employees have not yet noticed? Who knows! Or maybe these are a tacit manifestation of the announced transhumanism H+

Notes: H+: H human being and + (plus) is the symbol of Transhumanism.
