After the East West Dialogues 2015, during the last weekend, the international meeting “East West Dialogues 2016: New Generations in Orient and Occident: surveys and dialogues” took place in Varkala (Kerala, India). This meeting was the peak event of several initiatives developed during the month of February 2016. In relation to this year’s topic, some groups of study promoted dialogue-based meetings with young people in Varkala Area. Thanks to the collaboration of 5 colleges (Mar Theophilus Training College, St. Thomas Training College, S.N. Guru College for advance studies, CHMM for advance studies, Younus College for Engeneering and Technology) it was possible to meet around 600 students who were introduced to the “World Research about New Generations” which was just starting the Asian part of the research. At the same time similar meetings took place with about 400 young people coming from various parts of the world who were traveling in the Varkala Area.

The interested people who were staying in Varkala during this weekend were invited to participate to a larger moment of dialogue between different generations about the topics chosen for this year’s East West Dialogues: society, human being and his Meaning.

More than 60 participants attended the meeting, coming from India, Spain, France, Belgium, Israel, Russia, U.K., Ukraine, Italy and some were virtually connected from Australia and Italy. Members of the Universalist Humanism who are active in various associations, also participated along with members of other local associations. The program was developed through an open discussion among all participants on opinions and experiences about: the need for a simultaneous transformation of society and the human being, related to the research for a Meaning in life. The deepening about these topics and the collaboration about the development of the World Research about New Generations is continuing with t he interested ones through international groups on the spot and in virtual form.
