**Iraklion:** In the biggest of the 4 cities of Crete, in Iraklion, the forum lasted 5 days from the 9th to
13th of November including all three dimensions: dialogue, art and spirituality. The forum has been
supported by the municipality of Iraklion and in the starting ceremony the vice mayor declared his
support to the activities towards the direction of nonviolence. It was the continuation of the march for
nonviolence that was realized across the city on the 2nd of October, International Nonviolence day.

In all five days the participation was not massive with almost 50 people in total taking part to all
various events but the quality of the discussions and the plans that jumped out of it were fantastic. The
day by day program was as follows:

9th November: *“Education and nonviolence”*. Participants from all the degrees of education,
from primary school to universities were gathered and main topic was the creation in Crete of the
network *“Universities and schools for nonviolence”*.

10th November: *“Spirituality and nonviolence”*. The day has been split to different topics that are
actually very close one to another from the point of view of new humanism. The topics were activism
and spirituality under the point of view of nonviolence. In the part of spirituality a great help has been
given by our dear friend and humanist Eduardo Gozalo that came directly from Istanbul for the event.
The discussion was mostly around the Parks of Study and Reflection and their role in today’s world. It
was also discussed the process for the construction of a park in Greece.

11th November: – *“Art and nonviolence”* In the cinema *“V.Kornaros”* there were projected 2 movies:
the well-known documenter *“Zeitgeist Moving Forward”* and the documenter with Silo, founder of
the humanist movement *“Sage of the Andes”*. After the cinema some few people headed towards the
main square of the city (Liberty square) were the 11’’ ceremony has been realized. It was a beautiful
reflection over nonviolence in personal and social level.

12th November: *“How to cook a non-violent revolution”* In that day it was presented and then discussed
the power point created by different squares of Spanish *“Indignados”* regarding the ways of organizing
and producing non violent revolution.

13th November: *“Economy and nonviolence”*. The last day of the forum has been directed to the most
discussed topic of Greek society, the economy. Since the entrance of the country the last one and a half
year in troika all citizens are searching for ways of nonviolent resistance to the economic measures and
there were also some interesting proposals regarding a future plan, the resources based economy which
concentrated a lot of interesting interchange.

**Athens:** In the capital city all the efforts were concentrated on the 11.11.11 were a beautiful
presentation was made with the theme *“spirituality and nonviolence”*, identical to the one made the
previous day in Iraklion, with the participation again of our friend Eduardo Gozalo. 40 people took
part to the presentation and interested to learn more and be involved more actively towards the creation
of the first Greek park somewhere near Athens. It seems that the idea found more ground and it is
moving with more confident towards its realization.

After the discussions for the Greek Park several people headed towards Syntagma Square, the square in
front the Greek parliament were the 11’’ ceremony has also been realized.

**Thebes:** All the activities for the forum have been created in a very short period of time with quite impressing results. In Thebes the Forum also included all three dimensions: dialogue, art and
spirituality The municipality of the town actively supported the world forum which was spread all
across the town, rooted with the participation of different organizations and started a wonderful
process, especially on the field of education. Important also was the very good cooperation with 2 more
local associations.

11 November: The day was divided in 2 acts. In the morning, a beautiful ceremony for 11’’ seconds was realized at the hall of the photo
exhibition *“Peace Is”* with around 50 students of a secondary school. All the children took part and
imagined the change they want to see in the world, their families and themselves. After the ceremony
the children wrote their thoughts on a huge roll up paper that will travel all across Greece together with
the photographic exhibition *“Peace is”*.

At the afternoon took place the official beginning of the photo exhibition *“Peace Is”*, with the 40 best
photos of the International Photo Contest *“Peace Is”* (www.eirinieinai.gr) that WWWV in Greece
organized for 3rd year. The exhibition after the city of Thebes continued its travel to other cities in
Greece.

12 November: A very beautiful presentation with magnificent events (like theatrical monologues
presenting different forms of violence) with the same topic as in Iraklion and Athens *“spirituality
and nonviolence”* again with the help of Eduardo Gozalo. The Mayor of the city emphasized the necessity
to culture Peace and Non Violence especially in these more and more violent days we all live in.
The around 50 participants were impressed as they were coming for the first time in contact with the
theme of nonviolence. The event was covered by a local TV channel that broadcasts in 8 prefectures in
Central Greece with interview to Eduardo Gozalo.

**Corfu:** To all 90 schools of the island (elementary, high and senior high schools) an invitation has been
sent for the participation of the students, teachers and professors to the experience of the 11’’ on the
11.11.11. High and senior high schools have also been informed through telephone communication.
The idea was to reflect on the changes we desire on a personal and social level for 11’, once students
gathered in the courtyard, before entering into their classrooms. Although we don’t know the exact
number of schools which participated, mostly because of the weather conditions on that day, instructors
has notified us of their intention to actualize the experience during lesson time. In any case, the
diffusion and embracement of the concept was very moving. The idea has also been interestingly
supported by an interview on the national channel.

**Preveza:** On the 12th of November a projection of the movie *“Zeitgeist Moving Forward”* was made
with the participation of 20 people. During the break of the movie a ceremony similar to the 11’’ has
been realized.

In general, the feeling of coordination in all the 5 cities was marvelous. It seems that the World Forum
has provided excellent possibilities both for local activities and national coordination on the field of
nonviolence. It is already evident from various initiatives that came as a result of it.
