Argentina Film Opens Latin Cinema Festival in Sydney
The Argentine film “Cuestion de principios” (A Question of Principles) by Rodrigo Grande opens the 5th Latin American Cinema Festival in Sydney on Wednesday, which will screen over 60 movies in almost 20 days.
“Cuestion de principios” is inspired by the book of the same title by the late writer Roberto Fontanarrosa, who helped the filmmaker with the script.
The film is the history of two men from different generations, with very different values and ideologies, and stars Federico Luppi and Pablo Echarri.
The Sydney festival, which runs until September 19, will screen several regional films from different genres and themes, including the US/Mexican movie *”El General”* by filmmaker Natalie Almada, a winner at the recent Sundance Festival.
Other films will be *”Backyard, el traspatio,”* by Mexican Carlos Carrera, about the disappearance of hundreds of women in the Mexican border city of Juarez, and *”Decidle a Mario que no vuelva”* (Tell Mario Not to Come Back), by Uruguayan Mario Handler.
